First off I love your broadcast. The camera work, presentation, commentary, and analysis are generally spot on. I think that Chris Collinsworth does a good job at pointing out things away from the play that I might not otherwise notice. His football knowledge is apparent and it is nice to hear insight on schemes, coverages, plays, etc. I also enjoy Al Michaels play by play and who doesn’t like Michele Tafoya on the sideline. Dungy and Harrison also do a solid job in the studio. Getting rid of that idiot Keith Olberman was the best move you could have made to improve the show.
The number one reason why I am writing about Sunday Night Football though is the halftime commentary of Bob Costas. Every week Bob takes something from league and does a small video montage with commentary behind it, and it is always excellent. Perhaps one of the best was his analysis of Al Davis’ legacy. Unfortunately NBC has decided to force Bob to do a plug for The Today Show IMMEDIATELY after his piece. It ruins the mood of the whole thing and I’m pretty sure you can actually hear a little bit of Bob’s soul dying every time. Please let Costas finish his piece and then cut to a commercial for the today show, rather than forcing him to say “Tune into The Today show tomorrow morning for blah blah blah Michael Jackson”. Thanks, JP
